Caffè Lena School of Music: Old-Time Fiddle Workshops On Line with Bruce Molsky
Time: The course will take place on Wednesdays 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Dates: Jan 31, Feb 7, Feb 14, and Feb 21, 2024. With fiddles in hand, Bruce will guide participants through a variety of old time fiddle tunes from different regions and focus on what’s unique and compelling about each, and about the old time style in general. Starting with simple melody, we’ll add ornaments and bowing as we go. Participants can build their own personal versions, or just keep it simple and solid. There will be lots of repetition of phrases, and questions and conversation are welcome. We’ll also listen to a few classic recordings to get us in the zone over four 90-minute sessions.
